Papaya - Pineapple Smoothie

Friday, September 13, 2013

Just want to share this quick recipe on what I did to my fruits 2 hours ago. I don't know if I can count this as a dinner but, it really depends to you. :)

Ingredients:

1/4 of a medium sized ripe Papaya, chopped (photo shown below)
1/4 of a medium sized Sarawak Pineapple, chopped
(you can use any sweet-looking pineapple that is available near you, photo shown below)
180ml of non-fat milk
3 glasses of water
ice cubes
Vanilla Syrup (optional)
couple of Mint (optional)

Directions:

1) Blend in the papaya, pineapple, water milk in the blender.

2) When everything is well blended, add in the ice cubes until it is well incorporated.

3) Before serving, taste it. The Sarawak Pineapple is already sweet, and by that we added the water. But if you feel that it needed some adjustment on the sweetness, just add vanilla syrup or some organic sweetener, for about 30-50ml.. This brand is what I used.

Adjust it to whatever your liking on the sweetness you want it.

Also, you can also add mint on it, but since I ran out of it, I just did the rest without it.

And you're done!

FYI, Papaya is so much helpful in many ways.
  • Increases quality of proteins in whole organism.
  • Revitalize the human body and maintain energy and vitality.
  • Encourages the renewal of muscle tissue.
  • Supports cardiovascular system.
  • Boosts up the immune system.
  • Helps with the digestive system, by breaking down the proteins and supporting production of digestive enzymes.
  • Papaya can be use also externally as a treatment for skin wounds that don’t heal quickly, for this you can use papaya peel or ointments made out of papaya.
  • Prevents the cataract formation.
  • Due to high vitamin A, it lowers the risk of emphysema in smokers and passive smokers.
  • Alleviates inflammation.
  • Helps with the nausea and constipation.
  • Can benefit people suffering colon cancer and other forms of cancers and aliments of cardiovascular and gastrointestinal systems. (source)

The recipe would be at least make 1.2 Liters.

Enjoy!
